In Radiology waiting room

“ In Radiology waiting room “

Dozing off on a tired chair,
compressed in its hidden foamy chest
memories of a thousand anxious souls
some, perhaps, never to return
inquiring a second opinion,
since Machines’ Diagnosis is so absolute.

Nodding away, now
not knowing whether it is a day dream
or a nightmare- or both,
floating in a tight womb – lukewarm and slimy –
with umbilical cords – plastic
connecting me to life …

And mother’s weeping in anguish
resonates like a lullaby in darkness
from far, far afar .
